Mission:
Planning, Preparedness and Response For Fulton County.
Duties:
Fulton County Emergency Service and Disaster Agency works with all of the emergency response agencies, community groups and public health organizations to help prepare and respond throughout Fulton County both before and after a disaster. Our duties include storm spotting, disaster response, search and rescue, damage assessment, public preparedness education, emergency operation plan development with schools, nursing homes and other critical infrastructure along with responding to other emergency needs as they arise. The agency respond on average to 20 or more storm spotting calls, 12 search and rescue calls, 5 requests for assistance and countless public presentations or education classes in a calendar year.
One of the key roles of the agency is public preparedness and education presentations. Staff members will give presentations on past responses, preparedness, disaster recovery, weather spotting and other related topics to any civic group, community group, business, informal group, class or other group at no charge. This can be arranged by contacting our office and working with our staff to develop a presentation to fit your needs.
Persons interested in joining the agency should contact the office to learn more. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older, live within Fulton County and have no felonies on their personal record. Applicants are interviewed by membership staff after a background is complete as part of the application process.
