It is the mission of the Fulton County Treasurer’s Office to provide prompt, courteous and efficient services to all. The Treasurer’s Office will strive for professionalism, accountability and integrity while following guidelines provided by Fulton County, Illinois and Federal laws.
Duties:
The County Treasurer is an elected official with a four year term. The Treasurer is responsible for depositing, recording, investing and disbursing of county funds. Per Statute, the Treasurer is responsible for preparing an investment policy which conforms to state law. The objectives are safety, liquidity and rate of return. Sound investment and banking decisions must eliminate the risk of loss of public funds while providing liquidity to meet the County’s obligations.
The Treasurer reports to the county board each month the finances of all funds. The Treasurer co-signs the payroll and accounts payable checks and transfers funds for the obligations. As chief fiscal officer, the Treasurer’s office is the center of the fiscal year county audit. This website contains financial information that may be of interest to you.
The Treasurer serves as both Treasurer and Collector. The office is responsible for overseeing the collection and distribution of over $55 million dollars to 122 taxing bodies. Fulton County has over 26,000 real estate tax parcels and 600 mobile home parcels. This website will provide you with information concerning this taxing process.
