Rabies tag fees set by the Fulton County Board

Vaccination:
Every owner of a dog four months or more of age shall cause such dog to be vaccinated against rabies by a veterinarian at such intervals as required by law by the Illinois Department of Agriculture Animal Control Act. An owner of a cat may cause their cat to be vaccinated against rabies.
Registration:
Every owner of a dog four months or more of age shall register such dog. If registration is not made with the veterinarian, the owner is required to register with the County Treasurer within 30 days following vaccination. Every owner of a cat inoculated for rabies shall register such cat with the veterinarian, or within 30 days with the County treasurer.
The owner must present or mail a copy of the vaccination certificate along with the appropriate registration fee for each dog/cat. After receipt of the certificates and registration fee the County Treasurer will then issue the registered vaccination tag.

Failure to obtain required tags may result in charges filed against you with fines by the Fulton County State’s Attorney. For additional information please contact the Fulton County Animal Control Officer, Steve Beekman 309-224-1195.

Fulton County has a shelter with assistance from the city of Canton and the Humane Society of Fulton County. Concerned citizens may contact the shelter at 309-647-4861.
