The total of taxes extended for 2016 was $41,866.73.

Illinois law directs taxation based on the age and square footage of the mobile home.

Mobile homes are assessed on January 1st of each year and due later that year.
Senior citizens should contact the Supervisor of Assessments office for qualifying exemptions. Disabled Veterans should contact our local VAC Superintendent for assistance.

In person payments can be made by cash, check, money orders or credit card at:
Treasurer’s Office Room 104 or Drop box at back door. (Please include payment stub)

The mobile home local services tax enforcement act has enacted a late penalty of $25 per month or portion thereof up to tax sale. No personal checks will be accepted after delinquent certified letters are mailed in September.

Failure to pay the mobile home privilege tax will result in the same delinquent tax sale process as with real estate taxes. Certified letters are mailed, delinquent taxes are published, and judgement is taken and then offered for sale directly following the regular real estate tax sale.
As with sold real estate taxes, contact the County Clerk’s office for current redemption amounts.

A mobile home many not be moved without a signed permit from the County Treasurer. A transfer of title with the Secretary of State must accompany a certificate from the County Treasurer stating that all taxes have been paid.
