Mission:
The primary mission of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is to provide a safe and secure environment for the residents and visitors of Fulton County. This office will provide professional high quality and effective police, correctional and court services in partnership with the community. By working together, we can maintain the peace, provide safety and security for our citizens, and reduce crime and/or fear of crime.
To be successful in this mission, we require the commitment of the administration, every employee of the sheriff’s office, and the citizens of the county, all working together to maintain the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office as a trusted source for assistance.
Duties:
Jail – The jail staff is responsible for the care and custody of pre-trial detainees and convicted individuals sentenced to the Fulton County Jail.
Court Security – Court security is responsible for the security of the courthouse, courtrooms, and transportation of inmates from the jail to court.
Patrol – The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for patrolling all unincorporated towns and rural areas of Fulton County. Fulton County is approximately 880 square miles and has a population of approximately 36,651 people. Deputies are responsible for patrol. Deputies handle both emergency and non emergency calls for service. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office utilizes both marked and unmarked patrol cars.
Dispatch- Fulton County Sheriff’s Office telecommunicators are responsible for answering all incoming administrative and 911 calls, dispatching police, fire, EMT’s, ambulance and other appropriate personnel, routing calls to appropriate persons, and monitoring alarms.
