Patrick O’Brian (R)

Patrick was born and raised in Fulton County. He is a resident of Farmington. He and his wife Maria have 5 children. He has served parts of 2 terms on the County Board. Most recently as County Board Chairman. He spent 19 years at McDonald’s twice being recognized as one of the Top 10% of General Managers in the Country. He eventually worked his way up to Area Supervisor which includes multi-restaurant supervision, over 250 employees, and over $10,000,000 in annual sales. Patrick has served in Fulton County government since 2012. Elected to the County board in 2012 and 2018. He was elected Chairman of the County Board in August 2019. He served as Chairman of the County Board until he was elected County Clerk & Recorder in November 2020. He was re-elected to a four year term in 2022.

Patrick is active in the community as well. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Spoon River Partnership for Economic Development, Board of Directors of the Spoon River College Foundation, and is Treasurer of the Farmington Disc Golf committee.

He also plays an active role in the Illinois Association of County Clerks & Recorders. He previously served as Treasurer of Zone 2 and is now the President of Zone 2. He serves on the Legislative committee and the Executive Committee. In 2023 and 2024, Patrick was named Zone 2 County Clerk & Recorder of the Year. In 2023 he was named IACCR State County Clerk & Recorder of the Year.
