It is the mission of the Fulton County Zoning Office to provide timely, accurate & pleasant service to the residents of Fulton County and all prospective developers, as well as enforce and protect land located in floodplains and floodways in Fulton County.
The Fulton County Zoning Office is responsible for enforcing the Fulton County Zoning Ordinance and all of its related Sections. This office interprets and enforces the Zoning Ordinance, but does not interpret or enforce building codes.
The Zoning Enforcement Officer also acts as the Clerk of the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA). This includes, but is not limited to: Scheduling hearings for the ZBA, issuing notices of hearings and publishing notices of hearing, coordinating hearing facilities, and confirming that applicants have submitted and paid their required paperwork and fees.
In addition to enforcing the Zoning Ordinance, and organizing the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Zoning Enforcement Officer also acts as the Floodplain Administrator for Fulton County.
The Fulton County Zoning Office primarily consists of the Zoning Enforcement Officer, along with administrative oversight and assistance from the Chief County Assessment Officer.
