Mission:
Their mission is to serve the courts, provide for community safety and support victim’s rights, through holding our clients accountable, assisting them in becoming productive citizens and reduce incidents of recidivism with referrals to appropriate services regardless of race, gender or circumstances.
Duties:
All employees of the Court Services Department shall serve the public and the people under their care with respect and courtesy. To the people who come in contact with the Department, opinions as to the effectiveness, efficiency and professionalism of the Department are formed primarily from the manner in which employees of the Court Services Department act and present themselves.
The Department provides probation, detention, and related court services to the courts, clients, community and victims who have contact with the criminal justice system. All appointed employees are under the administrative and appointing authority of the Chief Circuit Judge and the Director of Court Services. All non appointed employees are under the administrative authority of the Director of Court Services.
Court Services Department employees are professionals dedicated to the highest degree of casework and service to the client, community, victim, and the courts. Their first obligation is to carry out and promote the intent and the philosophy of the Illinois Compiled Statutes.
The conduct of all Court Services Department employees shall be exemplary and they shall continually strive to improve skills and knowledge through education and training.
The Court Services Department of the Ninth Judicial Circuit encompasses all adult and juvenile probation services in the Ninth Judicial Circuit and the Mary Davis Detention Home in Knox County.
