This is the main page for the Fulton County COVID-19 Response. This page is designed to be the informational hub for the Fulton County COVID-19 response, press releases, information for area residents, and links to CDC and IDPH information. This page will be updated as new information becomes available. During these difficult times residents are encouraged to avoid large gatherings of over 10 people and stay home altogether if you are feeling sick. Please consider checking on those who are more susceptible to this virus including older adults (above age 60) and people who have serious chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes or lung disease. These vulnerable populations might need assistance in getting household supplies, picking up prescriptions or food.

If a resident feels ill and is concerned that they are infected with the virus – they should contact their primary care provider. Traveling to medical facilities or urgent care facilities is discouraged unless it is a medical emergency. Furthermore calling 911 should be used for life threatening medical emergencies.

Tips to help fight the virus include:

• Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
• Stay inside and away from others if you develop a fever and symptoms, such as a cough or difficulty breathing.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This would include tables, doorknobs, light switches, counter tops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets and sinks.

The Illinois Department of Public Health has set up a hotline and email for the public to use for general questions. The hotline number is 1-800-889-3931 and the email is DPH.SICK@ILLINOIS.GOV. You may also view daily press briefings by Governor Pritzker via the State of Illinois Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
