8. Zoning Office Report
Zoning Officer Kim Mayberry reported that one variance application was received for the September 30th ZBA agenda. It is a side yard variance for a property near Canton Lake. The property owner wants to tear down an existing structure and rebuild, but the structure does not comply with the current ordinance because it was built before the ordinance was enacted. The structure is approximately 15 feet from the side yard property line rather than the required 20 feet. Two commercial solar facility construction permit applications were submitted and will be on the October 28th, 2026 ZBA agenda. The combined permit fees from these two applications totaled $52,315. Four additional commercial solar facility construction permit applications are expected to be submitted before the end of the month.
