Member Clark moved to approve the agenda with a second by Member Ackerman. Motion carried by roll call vote (4-0).
3. Approval of Minutes – July 27, 2022
Member Ackerman moved to approve the July 27, 2022, minutes with a second from Member Roberson. Motion carried by roll call vote (4-0).

5. New Business
a. Discussion/Action: PUBLIC HEARING FOR VARIANCE TO THE ORDINANCE TO CONSTRUCT A GARAGE APPROXIMATELY ADJACENT TO THE PROPERTY BOUNDARY ON PARCEL #13-13-03-102-008
Member Phillips swore in Mr. Slaight to the public hearing. Mr. Slaight discussed the garage site has a gully north of the proposed build site. There is foundation work that will need to be done before the garage can be constructed.
Member Phillips stated he looked at the proposed build site and questioned which side of the property the garage would be built on. Mr. Slaight stated the garage would be built on the west side of the property. Mr. Slaight stated both sides of the property were overgrown with vegetation.
Members inquired if Mr. Slaight’s garage plan will block the view of any of the neighbors. Mr. Slaight stated he has improved the current view for the neighbors by removing the brush to give a better view of the lake.
Member Phillips inquired if any comments were received from neighboring property owners. Zoning officer Emmons stated one correspondence was received, that questioned if the removal of some trees would decrease the property value. Mr. Slaight stated the tress were removed due to the trees being damaged and were a hazard. Members stated there are many concerns over trees being removed and what this does to the value of the property. Member Phillips stated with no other concerns from neighbors received, the public hearing is closed.
Member Ackerman moved to approve the variance to the ordinance to construct a garage approximately adjacent to the property boundary on parcel #13-13-03-102-008 with a second from Member Roberson. Motion carried by roll call vote (4-0).
